Sledding at Uriah Hill in Peekskill, New York
There were plenty of good places to go sledding in Peekskill, New York. We spent most of our wintry youth sledding on a long trail in the Annsville woods across from our house in Highland Park. The only problem was that the run was so long that it took a while to walk back up to the top after going down.
When we didn’t feel like walking so far to catch another powdery thrill, we took our Radio Flyers over to Uriah Hill. Uriah Hill had a good, steep run that became especially fast as the day went on because it was a popular spot and the more it was used, the tighter the snow got packed and by the end of the day, it offered an icy and thrilling experience.
Where Did you go sledding when you were young and fearless?
