Never Too Early for Hide and Seek
My two year old daughter has started to join in the games of hide and seek that I play with her older sisters. It’s really cute. I have learned that two year olds definitely have the capacity to find hiders; but when it is their turn to hide, the fun begins and laughter ensues.
Me: Ok Aoife, I’m It. You go hide and I’ll count to ten.
Aoife: Ok Daddy! Yea! Hide!
Me: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, ready or not, here I come!
Aoife: Here I come! Hi Daddy!
Her older sisters and I get a real kick out of it. The good thing is that they still get to enjoy hiding and having Aoife and me look for them – so her participation in the game doesn’t ruin the fun for them – just adds to it. Aoife is rather good at finding them too, but it takes a little while (which is good for their ego.) Of course, sometimes she stops looking altogether and goes into the kitchen looking for a yogurt instead.
