Childhood Memories: Mad Magazine
Like most boys, I spent many hours flicking through the pages of Mad Magazine. There was something about the publication that just connected with boys. The humor was sufficiently juvenile to keep our attention and yet sophisticated enough to accompany us through the years of our adolescence.
Do you remember this cover from January, 1976?
You can enjoy your own Mad flashback by visiting Doug Gilford’s Mad Cover Site.
Of course, with bits like Spy vs. Spy, what normal boy wouldn’t want to read every issue?
But perhaps the best part of Mad magazine was the back cover fold ins! They were awesome.
You can take a trip down memory lane in the NY Times’ interactive expose of Mads famous fold ins.
